The book selection process is the culmination of both a vibrant democratic system and rigorous intellectual discussion. Book Club meetings are bi-annual, and at each meeting, two books are discussed. For each of these books, a separate book selection process takes place. This means that every three months, the members of the Book Club are convened to vote upon and select the new book choice.

Each member of Beyond Book Club suggests one book that they would like to see as the next selection. Out of these eleven books, two are chosen by a “Book Selector” (a previously agreed upon member of the book club, as determined by a randomized order of the eleven members). Upon choosing two finalist options, all members vote upon which of the two will be the next book to be read. The Book Club then has three months to read said book, before the selection process repeats.
